MBHP - MB designed this "High Performance" board after years of input from his riders. The board creates plenty of speed, but has the rocker for quick turns in the pocket. A softer forward rail makes the board forgiving, yet the boxy rail towards the tail keeps it sensitive. The bottom has a subtle single to double concave with vee running off the tail. MB also has added a low entry rocker for easier paddling which makes this an excellent board for competition. Normally the tail design is a squash, swallow or round tail.
Size range: 5'8" to 6'6".
The Peanut
MBPT - "The Peanut" was created for having lots of fun on those small mushy days. Having a fuller nose, a very flat entry rocker, and a wide point that is 6 - 12 inches higher than normal boards, this model paddles quickly and surfs fast, holding its speed on flatter, weaker waves where normal boards slow down. They are ridden 6 - 12 inches shorter, 1/2 inch to 1 inch wider, and 1/4 to 1/2 inch thicker than normal everyday boards. The Peanut also offers great versatility with the possibility for the five fin set-up, so it can be ridden as a tri or quad fin.
Size range: 5'2" to 6'10"
Thumby HP
MBHP Thumby - MB and PB designed the "Thumby" as a variation of the "High Peformance" model. It shares the same rocker and bottom contour, but this board has more curve in the last 12 inches of the tail to give the rail more holding power in punchier surf.
Size range: 5'8" to 6'6".
Super Grom
MBSG - The "Super Grom" model is our high performance board made for the smaller riders. This shape has a soft forward rail to make the board forgiving on maneuvers, but the lower rail is slightly boxy to keep it responsive. The bottom has a single concave with vee running off the tail. Despite the thinness and shorter length, the board still maintains plenty of speed and drive while having the rocker for quick turns and easy paddling. Available with all types of tail designs. The "Super Grom Thumby" model is also available for more powerful surf.
Size range: 4'6" to 5'7".
PB - High Performance
PBHP - Phil Byrne designed this "High Performance" board for everyday 2' to 6' waves. It is made for advanced and professional level surfers like Phil Mac Donald who use this board on the world tour. Normally the tail design is a round pin.
Size Range: 5'10" to 6'4".
Tom Carroll
TCM - Tom Carroll and PB have been working on this design under various conditions. The "Tom Carroll" model has a five fin set-up, so it can be ridden as a thruster or a quad. The outline and fin placement is similar to a basic tri-fin board, yet this model is a bit shorter and wider with the option for quad fins. It comes with the FCS system and TC fins to keep the model quick and light.
Size Range: 5'10" to 6'3".
Tow Board
MBT - The "Tow Board" model has been tested by the team in medium to extremely large conditions around the world. In large surf the size of the tow board is generally equal to the height of the rider. In medium surf the size of the tow board is about 3 inches shorter than the rider. This board is available as a tri-fin or a quad-fin with a swallow, pin, or bat tail.
Size range: 5'4" to 6'8".
Gun - Medium
MBGM - This gun model is for "Medium" sized surf and works great as a step-up board for when the surf is medium to large and powerful. The rails have a bit more volume in the chest, but are foiled thin in the nose and tail. The bottom rocker has a low entry that allows team riders like Danny Fuller to paddle easier and get in early at Pipe. The bottom contour has a flat panel vee feeding into a double concave with vee running off the tail.
Size range: 6'2" to 7'4".
Gun - Large
MBGL - This model is a gun for "Large" waves and has proven its abilities around the world by Danny Fuller and others. It is designed with more volume in the chest area and a flatter deck to increase its paddling capacity, but the nose and tail are foiled thinner for more sensitivity. The bottom contour is flat and feeds into a flat panel vee. Available in pin, round, and swallow tail designs.
Size range: 7'5" to 8'9".
Gun - Extra Large
MBGXL - Did you say BIG surf??!! This model is definitely a gun for "Extra Large" waves like Sunset, Waimea Bay, Pico Alto, Mavericks, and the heaviest surf out there. The overall design is very similar to the large wave model, but this gun has more length and volume.
Size range: 8'10" to 10'3".
Owen Wright Design
OWD - The "Owen Wright Design" is being ridden with incredible success on the world tour by Owen Wright. The board has extraordinary speed and drive, and still has the maneuverability to do all types of critical turns in any part of the wave. The bottom contour has a subtle single to double concave with some vee running off the tail. Definitely an excellent performance board for all conditions ranging from chest high to double overhead surf. The tail design is a slightly fuller round tail.
Available from 5'8" to 6'4"
The Crown Quad
MBCQ - "The Crown Quad" is undoubtedly the loosest and most maneuverable quad model on the market. It is very quick and fast like most quad boards, but the significant break in the rail line towards the tail gives it an amazing release going into your turns. This allows the board to maneuver and pivot quicker (like a tri-fin), creating easier top to bottom turns, but still with the speed and drive of a standard quad. The bottom contour has a deep double concave with vee trailing off the center of the tail.
Size range: 5'6" to 6'10"
Fuller Quad
FQM - The "Fuller Quad" model was created by Danny Fuller and MB after several years of collaboration. It has become an extremely versatile board used in small, medium, and large surf. For example Fuller feels confident at Pipe with this design, but also uses it in small beach breaks. The advantage of this model is its incredible speed, and this can be applied to all situations from riding deep in the barrel to boosting massive airs. Normally a bat tail, but also available with round, moon, and swallow tails.
Size range: 5'6" to 7'6".
Fuller Quad Step-up
FQM Step-up: The"Fuller Quad Step-up" model is used in larger conditions than the original design. The bottom has a low entry rocker with a single concave, and some models have vee running off the tail. Its design makes for less pumping, easy paddling, and extra drive in the barrel. "You just can't beat the speed that this board provides," says Fuller. Available with bat, round, moon, and swallow tails.
Size range: 7'7" to 9'6".
The Pill
MBP - MB and Jeff Booth created "The Pill" for carving on those smaller days. It is very performance orientated with a fuller nose and a wider diamond tail that gives the board more area to plane on the wave. The bottom has a flat entry to a double barrel concave with vee running through the tail. Normally ridden about 2" to 4" shorter and 1/2" to 1" wider than normal.
Winged Fish
MBWF - The "Winged Fish" has an outline like an old twin fin, but with a fuller performance style nose and a wing swallow tail. It also has a bottom design with a single to double concave and vee running off the tail. This board is fast, responsive, and snappy in good waves, but also performs incredibly well in small and mushy surf. Normally ridden 2" to 4" shorter, 1" wider, and 3/8" thicker than normal board.
Size range: 5'5" to 6'10".
Rocket Fish
MBRF - The "Rocket Fish" model is designed to provide the rider with more drive in small to medium sized conditions. It has a wider nose, extra curve, and a deeper swallow tail to give it a quick release and loosen up the turns. The new template design has a bottom contour with a flat entry to concave, and vee running off the tail. Normally ridden 2" to 4" shorter, 1" wider, and 3/8" thicker than normal board.
Size range: 5'5" to 6'10".
JB Lead Foot
MBJB - This is a versatile board designed for a bigger, more powerful surfer. Jeff Booth's "Lead Foot" features boxier rails, a low entry rocker, a single concave under the fins, and vee running off the tail. This makes the board roll into turns with ease, but still creates incredible speed, holding power, and drive down the line. Jeff Booth used and refined this model for over fifteen years on the world tour, and found it to work best in 3' to 6' waves with a bit of power.
Size range: 6'2" to 6'10".
Easy Rider
PBER - The "Easy Rider" is a high performance surfboard made for the big boys who still want to rip. It has a thicker rail and foil, a semi-boxy to boxy tail, and the bottom contour has a subtle single to double concave with vee running off the tail. This board is designed for a bigger surfer who appreciates the easy paddling factor of a larger board, but still wants a fast, loose and responsive shortboard. All tail designs are available.
Size range: 6'8" to 8'0".
The Eggy
FBE - The "Eggy" model is a very versatile fun shape. It has a full nose and tail to give it lots of flotation and stability that is great for beginners, yet it's still fun on those small days for medium and advanced riders.
